Survey/Project Name: Water Quality Monitoring in Morella Basin (Martins Washpool CP)
Abstract: Morella Basin was once an irregularly, but long period, seasonally inundated wetland. Morella Basin is situated immediately upstream from Salt Creek and is a pondage basin for USE drainage water. Two thirds of the basin is in Martins Washpool Conservation Park and the balance is being added to the park. The wetland hydrology of the basin is poorly understood. To provide information for the management plan for Martins Washpool Conservation Park water chemistry and hydrology requires investigation. Water levels and water chemistry is recorded on a quarterly basis (2000-2001) - north and south ends of wetland. The SEWCDB has installed a continuous water level gauge at the outlet.
