Survey/Project Name: | Mount Bold Reservoir Reserve Biological Survey (NCSSA) |
Abstract: | The survey was undertaken to gain an understanding of the diversity of flora and fauna within Mount Bold Reservoir. To survey a variety of habitat types within the reserve and to survey sites within habitat types that represent the best quality and least disturbed areas within each habitat type. Survey was conducted October-November 2005. Sites were selcted by considering past vegetation mapping to locate/identify diversity. Complete lists of plant species were obtained quadrat using Braun/ Blanquet cover abundance scores. 1 trapline was setup per site, as well as some bird watching. Reference: Pound L.M. Methodology
Vegetation: | Complete list of plant species per 30m x 30m quadrat (some quadrats were 45m x 20m to follow linear features) using Braun/ Blanquet cover abundance scores.
Fauna: | 1 trapline per site including: 1 pitfall line of 6 pits; 1 eliot trap line of 15 traps; 2 cage traps; and 1 micropit line of 6 micropits. Minimum 1hr of bird watching both am and pm at each site. |
