Survey/Project Name: Black-chinned Honeyeater survey Adelaide
Abstract: Short-term project aiming to undertake Black-chinned Honeyeater surveys in agreed priority locations within the Mount Lofty Ranges. Record GPS locations of Black-chinned Honeyeater feeding sites and accurately detail the various plant species being utilised. Advise on the key food resources types utilised by Black-chinned Honeyeaters at key surveyed sites. In April/May 2010 systematic searches for Black-chinned Honeyeaters were undertaken only in areas where birds were recently reported, to maximise the chance of encountering them.

Study Area Description: Due to the limited time available, systematic searches for Black-chinned Honeyeaters were undertaken only in areas where birds were recently reported (SAOA 2010, Birdpedia 2010, P. Paton pers. comm., Morphett Vale resident pers. comm..), to maximise the chance of encountering them. These areas mainly suburbs)were covered on foot, and surveyed for Blackchinned Honeyeaters, by searching and listening for any calls of this species.
