Abstract: |
Project established to accommodate additional recent records from the South Australian Museum (SAM) Vertebrate Collection. Original extracts from SAM were loaded into BDBSA under Project 215.
Data has been extracted from the Atlas of Living Australia. Managed by SA Museum. Stored as Third Party data by DEW.
NOTE:Many of the specimens have been contributed from projects that store their data on other institution databases such as BDBSA and therefore will contain duplicates
Two download formats available :
Format 1) 2017 extract
This project is a dataset downloaded from Atlas of Living Australia in April 2017 (last record is March 2016). Coordinates are not denatured and therefore for INTERNAL use only or through DEWBioDataRequests@sa.gov.au All spatial data must be denatured in accordance with environmentallysensitive data rules (ie Spatial accuracy for public release must be > 10km accuracy).
Records are excluded if species or coordinate fields were blank, or if a species-name match could not be found within BDBSA accepted flora and fauna taxonomy.
Collections included are:
HERPETOLOGY, ICHTHYOLOGY, MAMMALOGY, ORNITHOLOGY.
Format 2) Birds only 2014 (originally stored as BDBSA Project number 955). Public download so sensitive species coordinates are denatured to 10km accuracy.
Bird extract details:
1. Data post 27/07/2003 included only
2. Incomplete dates populated with 1st of the month/year/century
3. Records with incomplete coordinates excluded.
