Survey/Project Name: | Conservation of Red Gums in the Flinders Ranges |
Abstract: | A collection of photographic images showing the condition of river red gums throughout the Flinders Ranges. Sites range from Port Germein to the Gammon Ranges and many are taken in National Parks of the ranges. This collection possibly accompanied a report on condition of the red gums. The images illustrate various growth stages in various localities and also show the impacts of disturbances including water stress, cockatoos, insects and pathogens. Some sites revisited in 2011 as part of Threatened Ecological Community monitoring for South Australian Arid Lands Biodiversity Strategty conservation priorities (Flinders-Olary Bioregion) |

Vegetation: | The purpose and methods behind this study are not known. Observations made of growth stages (seedling, sapling, maturity and senescences) as well as regenerative capacity, like seedling growth and epicormic shooting. Possible disturbance influences noted and included water stress, insect attack, grazing, large parrot attack, salinity, mistletoe infestation, fires. | ||
