Survey/Project Number: 321          Total No. of Sites: 1953
Survey/Project Name: Mainland Tammar Wallaby Recovery Program (Innes National Park)
Abstract: Between 2004 and 2008, 125 Mainland Tammar Wallabies (EPBC extinct in the wild) were reintroduced into Innes NP. All wallabies were fitted with radio collars and their movements monitored. Wallaby survival and population status was intensively monitored between 2004 and 2010, through radio-telemetry and seasonal trapping surveys. Annual trapping has occurred since 2010, supplemented by annual camera trapping since 2012.

Start Date: 01/01/2000      End Date: 01/01/2020

Objectives
Vegetation: Visit date is incorrect, needs updating.
         Fauna: Refer to Abstract.
Methodology
Vegetation: *** No vegetation methodology recorded
Fauna: Details from early radiotracking days - Leah Kemp (PhD student form Adelaide University) is radio tracking wallabies for 10 days in every month till the end of 2005. Volunteers assist in tracking. Tracking is done at night (from before dusk till after dawn and involves locating wallabies from fixed tower radio stations. If animals wander out of range of the towers then they have to be found by handheld radio tracking. Habitat data is collected and Tamar Wallabie scats and Western grey Kangaroo scats for diet analysis.

Data Distribution Rules: Public Dataset
Project Basis: Fauna : Fauna reintroduction or plant translocation/revegetation program.
