The dataset is mainly made up of fish, macroinvertebrates, zooplankton and hydrological data and was collected during and maybe for a few years prior to 1988. The study area was the Coongie Lakes system on the lower Cooper.
"DRY/WET is an interactive model of the ecology of Coongie Lakes, a wetland complex on Cooper Creek in central Australia.
The model describes the natural water regime and its effects on the aquatic fauna, including fish, invertebrates and zooplankton. It also shows how these communities could be affected by artificial changes to the water regime.
The model is designed to assist in evaluating proposals to divert flows from Cooper Creek for irrigation, but a similar approach could be applied to other arid-zone wetlands. |
