Survey/Project Name: Rapid Assessment of Fleurieu Wetlands
Abstract: Rapid Assessment of Fleurieu wetlands survey conducted in January 2006, aimed to 1) Confirm the presence of wetlands in the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board (AMLR NRMB) region that have previously been mapped through the Wetland Inventory for the Fleurieu Peninsula (DEH 2005). 2) Rapid assessment of wetland condition and extent.

Start Date: 01/01/2006      End Date: 31/01/2006
Survey Type: Vegetation Only

Study Area Description: Fleurieu Peninsula within the region of the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board
Objectives
Vegetation: 1) Confirm the presence of wetlands in the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resrouces Management Board (AMLR NRMB) region that have previously been mapped through the Wetland Inventory for the Fleurieu Peninsula (DEH 2005). 2) Rapid assessment of wetland condition and extent.
Fauna: *** No fauna survey objectives recorded
Methodology
Vegetation: Groundtruthing of wetland presence through roadside observations or onsite visit to each mapped wetland (see Project Summary for spatial limitation). Wetland presence determined through vegetation (reported in attrubites) and/or presence of wetland substrates (reported in attributes). Substrates collected and analysed for most wetlands. Wetland extent estimated and mapped in field onto printed maps. Changes in wetland extent as observed through groundtruthing reflected in updated dataset.
Fauna: *** No vertebrate methodology recorded

Data Distribution Rules: Public Dataset
Project Basis: Vegetation : Unclassified - pending reassessment.
