Survey/Project Name: Pygmy Blue-tongue Searches - Adelaide Office & Surrounding regions
Abstract: Survey began in Feb 2011 of Twin creek property north-east of Kapunda, South Australia. Additional surveys have been conducted as far north as Hallett. The survey involved searching for Pygmy Blue-tongues. Future work may include searches on neighbouring properties. Suitable sites were selected for investigation based on habitat quality and historical land management practices. At each site 100 spider burrows were searched using an Articulated Borescope or until a Pygmy Blue-tongue was located.

Study Area Description: Twin Creek property north-east of Kapunda near Bagot Well. Large sheep station with native grasslands and grassy woodlands. A proportion of the property has been used for cropping.
Objectives
         Vegetation: No vegetation survey objectives recorded
         Fauna: Aim of the project was to determine the extent of Pygmy Blue-tongue occurrence on the Twin Creek property. A Second aim is to determine the distribution of Pygmy Bluetongue lizards across their range.
Methodology
         Vegetation: *** No vegetation methodology recorded
         Fauna: Suitable sites were selected for investigation based on habitat quaility and historical land managment practices. At each site 100 spider burrows were searched using an Articulated Borescope or until a Pygmy Blue-tongue was located. At some sites we continued searching spider burrows to detect additional Pygmy Blue-tongues.
