Survey/Project Name: Beverley and Beverley North Annual Fauna Survey - Ecological Associates Pty Ltd
Abstract: In October 2010 Ecological Associates was engaged to conduct the annual fauna monitoring surveys within the Beverley and Beverley North Uranium Mine areas on the North Olary Plains in South Australia. The surveys inform a long-term fauna-monitoring program to monitor the potential impact of the mine construction and operation on local fauna populations. The survey method at all sites involves Elliot traps, cage traps, funnel traps, pitfall traps, micro pit traps, bird surveys, active searches, harp traps, Anabat recording, and spotlighting. In total 24 sites surveyed, each for four days and four nights. These sites consist of eight control sites, 10 sites at Beverley and six sites at Beverley North.
