Survey/Project Name: Para Wirra Recreation Park bird monitoring
Abstract: Bird monitoring of Para Wirra Recreation Park, Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Fortnightly monitoring from 1996-2001, to record total number of bird species and total number of birds for a species. Visits are conducted at a 500m X 500m site for a minimum of two hours per visit.

Study Area Description: Para Wirra Recreation Reserve. Two known sites were surveyed - Devil's Nose Track Carpark in southern section and Northern part of Para Wirra Recreation Park, near Goldfields.
Objectives

         Fauna: To monitor the bird species of Para Wirra Recreation Park through conducting bird counts at a set site on a regular basis.
Methodology

         Fauna: Fortnightly monitoring, to record total number of bird species and total number of birds for a species. Visits are conducted at a 500m X 500m site for a minimum of two hours per visit. Occassionally another 'casual' site was visited which was also 500m X 500m and visited for two hours minimum.
