Survey/Project Name: Innes National Park Biodiversity Assessments (DENR)
Abstract: A series of biodiversity assessments will be undertaken by Department of Environment and Natural Reseources (DENR) and Northern Yorke Peninsula regional staff, assisted by trained and supervised volunteers. The program will establish base-line monitoring sites, pre- and post-management monitoring, and information for long-term adaptive management of the park's biodiversity assets. Regional staff and community volunteers wil have the opprtunity to develop survey skills under the guidance of experienced DENR survey biologists. The program will include vertebrate fauna groups and vegetation surveys, habitat condition assessments, and opportunistic data collection at selected sites throughout Innes National Park.

Methodology
         Vegetation: Survey methods will include the Biological Survey of SA methods for vegetation.
         Fauna: Survey methods will include the Biological Survey of SA methods for vertebrate fauna and vegetation; the Nature Conservation Society Bushland Condition Monitoring index for habitat condition assessments; beach assessments for shore-nesting birds using Birds Australia method; and opportunistic data collection using methods recommended by regional ecologists, including call play-back surveys for Western Whip Birds and Bush Stone-curlew; active monitoring for bats; spotlighting surveys for Tammar Wallabies, kangaroos and vertebrate pests.
