Survey/Project Number: 835          Total No. of Sites: 18
Survey/Project Name: NATIVE VEG ACT - SET ASIDES - 2012-2013
Abstract: Plant species recorded within existing or potential 'significant environmental benefit' areas nominated to offset vegetation cleared under the Native Vegetation Act 1991.This project includes only a sub-set of surveys conducted between 2011 and 2013. After 2012, areas set aside to offset clearance were referred to as Signficant Environmental Benefit areas. Such areas were surveyed using either the Bushland Assessment method or the Rangeland Assessment method. After 2012, survey data for potential Significant Environmental Benefit areas have been entered under Project numbers that reflect the Native vegetation assessment method (namely Rangeland or Bushland Assessment Method).

Start Date: 01/10/2011      End Date: 31/12/2013
Survey Type: Vegetation Only

Study Area Description: All land area within South Australia
Objectives
         Vegetation: Refer to Abstract.
Fauna: *** No fauna survey objectives recorded
Methodology
Vegetation: All species present within a Significant Environmental Benefit area are recorded. The majority of species are recorded using the BushRat assessment method, which is based on a representative 1 ha area. Plants are identified by Native Vegetation and Biodiversity Assessment officers. Where plant identificatin is not certain and or the plant has a high conservation rating, plants are labelled and lodged with the State Herbarium.
Fauna: *** No vertebrate methodology recorded
