Survey/Project Name: Monarto Restoration Project - Survey
Abstract: Our aim is to restore and expand habitat at Monarto to represent what used to exist in the region, before clearing for agriculture and introduction of pest species to the area. Part of the Monarto Restoration Project was to conduct the first round of property-wide bio-surveys to obtain baseline data. The surveys will give us a better idea of the presence and abundance of various plant and animal species on the property so that we can adapt our management practises to reflect what is currently there. In addition, it supports community engagement through volunteer participation in survey work with staff at Monarto Zoo.
