Survey/Project Name: Nest Box Survey of Feathertail Gliders
Abstract: The aim of the survey was to determine the status and distribution of the Feathertail Glider Acrobates pygmaeus. Twenty sites were surveyed in the lower South East using nestboxes, trapping and hairtubes. Fourteen sites were surveyed close to the Murray River near Renmark to determine the presence of the Gliders. Hairtubes did not pick up the presence of the Feathertail Glider. Two individual Feathertail Gliders were captured in traps from a single remnant in the South East, and two were recorded from one nest box in the Riverland. The extent of the survey included 1 300 trap nights and 326 nestboxes in 1999/2000.
