Survey/Project Name: Murraylands Biodiversity Hotspots Project
Abstract: The aim of this project is to protect remnant vegetation on private land to be put under a Heritage Agreement. Staff member from DEH is liasing with land owners who wish to formally protect their remnant vegetation under a Heritage Agreement. He has discussed this with 5 land owners to date (6/4/2005) and 4 of those have put applications to the Native Vegetation Group for a Heritage Agreement. He has been approaching land owners with large blocks of native vegetation, in the future he will also include smaller blocks of land with significant vegetation. This is an ongoing project looking at parcels of land in the Murraylands and the South East.
