Abstract: |
This project aims to undertake a biological survey of remnant vegetation in Victoria Park and surrounding sites within the
Adelaide Parklands. The project will address knowledge gaps relating to the occurrence and distribution of remnant native
species within the area. It is anticipated that information collected through the survey will: - inform the Adelaide City Council
and interested local groups (eg Adelaide Parkland Preservation Association) of the biological value of the remnants, - serve as
a long term record of type, location and density of species present - be used by Adelaide City Council for appropriate
protection and sensitive development in the area. The biological survey will focus on collecting flora records, by establishing 3
vegetation survey quadrats, supplemented by opportunistic records. Opportunistic records of invertebrates may also be
collected. The survey will also include assessment of the density of native grasses and other species. Survey was conducted between 2010/2011. |
