Survey/Project Name: Venus Bay CP Spotlight transects 1999 - 2006
Abstract: Spotlight transects were conducted in various places within Venus Bay Conservation Park, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. The survey was carried out between 1999 and 2006 gaining data on mammal species within the park. Counts were conducted either on the day or the day after a trail of oats were laid on the transect. Rainfall charts from 2004-2006 are also included with the dataset.

Objectives

         Fauna: To conduct spotlighting along transects in Venus Bay Conservation Park.
Methodology
         Vegetation: *** No vegetation methodology recorded
         Fauna: Spotlighting conducted from a car along a transect. The driver operated the spotlight and counted to the right of the vehicle, the passenger was the scribe and counted the animals on the track and to the left. Since April 2005, counts were carried out on the day on which an oat trail was laid the entire length of the transect. Prior to this, counts were conducted the day after the oat trail was laid.
