Study Area Description: |
The survey region runs from just north of Port Germein in the south to north of the Dutchmans Stern CP in the Southern Flinders Ranges and encompasses the area from the coast to the ranges. Average annual rainfall ranges from around 250mm in the coastal region up to around 400mm in the ranges. There are some mangrove and salmarsh communities along the coastal fringe grading into saltbush and mallee country further inland. Vegetation on the ranges includes some forest and woodland areas of Sugar Gum and Blue Gum and mallee communities of Peppermint Box and Beaked Red Mallee as well as Acacia shrublands and Triodia grasslands.
The survey region runs from just north of Port Germein in the south to north of the Dutchmans Stern CP in the Southern Flinders Ranges and encompasses the area from the coast to the ranges. It covers the 1:50,000 mapsheets of Port Augusta, Davenport and Mambray. |
