Survey/Project Name: Historical flora and fauna records compiled by Adrian Shackley
Abstract: This project aims to record information from a number of historical and secondhand sources over recent years, across South Australia. Much of this information is not recorded in available science databases such as the State Herbarium of SA or BDBSA. Examples include: 1. records of Behr collecting in SA in 1944-45 that appear in Linnaea 20 and 21 2. reports of Field Naturalists SA that appear in their journal or in old newspaper reports but not reflected in records of State Herbarium of SA or SA Museum 3. reports in old books e.g. local history books, book on Roseworthy area where the author reports collecting Malleefowl eggs at Reeves Plains. There is also a lot of fairly recent data from reports prepared for local councils and sometimes for private people which I can access directly or with approval if required. This part of the project is being reconsidered.
