Survey/Project Number: 1034          Total No. of Sites: 139
Survey/Project Name: Frahn's Farm Biological Survey
Abstract: This project aims to conduct a fauna survey on Frahns Farm, in the Eastern Mount Lofty Ranges, South Australia. This property will be a focus for restoration activities to supplement existing patches of threatened grassy ecosystems (Eucalyptus porosa low grassy woodland) and low grassy woodland (Allocasuarina verticillata +/- Callitris preissii). This project will provide a baseline for ongoing study, as well as supplement limited fauna records for the area more generally. Initial baseline survey was during November 2015.

Start Date: 12/11/2015      End Date: 01/01/2020
Survey Type: Vegetation and Fauna

Study Area Description: Frahn's Farm Crown Land Monarto
Objectives
         Vegetation: Refer to Abstract.
         Fauna: Refer to Abstract.
Methodology
Vegetation: *** No vegetation methodology recorded
Fauna: Standard vertebrate survey techniques (as per the Biological Survey of South Australia methodology) will be used to capture animals, including Elliott trapping, cage trapping and pitfall trapping. Animals will be also found by hand searching remnants, or by looking under ground material (tiles, rocks, other material) that would act as habitat. Traps will be set for at least the standard four nights as per the Biological Survey of SA methodology. A total of 12 trap lines will be established across six sites, with each trap line incorporating 10 pitfall traps, 10 Elliott traps, 10 micro-pitfalls, 20 tiles and 2 cage traps.
