Survey/Project Number: 1075          Total No. of Sites: 27289
Survey/Project Name: Northern & Yorke Region - Yorke District Aerial Boxthorn Control
Abstract: This project aims to undertake boxthorn weed-control using Tebuthiuron herbicide across Yorke Peninsula and some offshore islands in South Australia. The granulated form of Tebuthiuron was distributed by Natural Resources Northern and Yorke staff from helicopters over individual boxthorns. Permanent photopoint sites were setup to monitor the impact of this control method over time.

Start Date: 01/04/2015      End Date: 30/06/2018
Survey Type: Photopoints only

Study Area Description: Yorke Peninsula from Port Broughton area south down the peninsula and including some offshore islands (e.g. Wardang, Middle Island etc.).
Objectives
Vegetation: *** No vegetation survey objectives recorded
Fauna: *** No fauna survey objectives recorded
Methodology
Vegetation: Photo-points These photo-points were located to provide a view of the weed control site. The photo-point process and data recorded generally followed the biological survey photo-point method. Photos were taken directly at the weed control area, immediately either side of the site post and where possible in a 180 degree arc from the left-hand side to the right-hand side of the photo-post / range pole. These sites were established within approximately 12-14 months of the initial weed control treatment.
Fauna: *** No vertebrate methodology recorded

Data Distribution Rules: Public Dataset
Project Basis: Vegetation : Pest/Diseases/Threats - control project
Vegetation : Photopoint - General Purpose PP's not directed at resolving specific issues. NOTE:NON Std Svy methodology may have been used.
