Survey/Project Number: 1103          Total No. of Sites: 2785
Survey/Project Name: Buffel grass control in arid rangelands
Abstract: This project will address the greatest threat to biodiversity in South Australia's arid rangelands--the capacity of Buffel Grass (Cenchrus ciliaris) to transform arid ecosystems, primarily by altering fire regimes, at landscape scale. METHODOLOGY: By containing Buffel Grass, improving best practice control methods, and undertaking surveillance in high risk areas, and destroying outliers and priority source populations, this project will improve South Australia's strategic approach to protecting biodiversity.
