| Abstract: | This project aims to establish grazing exclosures in Gammon Ranges National Park, north of Adelaide, South Australia, to monitor the recovery of Acacia araneosa (Spidery Wattle) in response to goat and rabbit grazing in 1992. AIM: Monitor vegetation, with particular emphasis on regeneration and rare and threatened plants, after removal of stock in 1982, but still under the influence of feral and native animals. This included the survey of several sites using the Biological survey of SA methodology. Results were published by the Nature Conservation Society of South Australia. REFERENCE: C.S. Baulderstone, H. | Study Area Description: | Average annual rainfall at Balcanoona Homestead is approximately 210mm. This will vary slightly over the extent of the park. Sites can be split into those in the ranges, in the region of Grindells Hut and those on the plains, which flank the ranges in particular along the Balcanoona Creek. Vegetation includes low open woodland with understorey of grasses, forbs and chenopods; tall shrublands; low chenopod shrublands and grasslands (Mitchell Grass).
