Survey/Project Number: 958          Total No. of Sites: 174
Survey/Project Name: Northern AMLR Grassy Ecosystem Assessment
Abstract: This project aims to update existing grassy-ecosystem mapping and assess the condition of remnant native grassy-ecosystems, north of Adelaide, South Australia. The priority initially will be on grassland mapping and assessment.

Start Date: 01/02/2015      End Date: 30/06/2016
Survey Type: Veg Dominants (Ground Truth)

Study Area Description: Northern AMLR region - Upper Light Council.
Objectives
Vegetation: To upgrade mapping of grassy ecosystems. To document species, and particularly native grasses, associated with grassy ecosystems, with treeless or sparsely treed communities a priority.
Fauna: *** No fauna survey objectives recorded
Methodology
Vegetation: Existing grassland and grassy ecosystem mapping will be verified and a rapid field assessment of condition will be made of as many grassy ecosystem remnants as possible. The survey method used is described as 'Reconnaisance land unit mapping for planning and decision making" details of which are located on DEWNR website under Information Sharing and Methodologies. Data collected in the field will include a rapid estimate of cover of all plant species present and an estimate of the ratio of native:introduced cover. Areas considered likely to comprise native grassland but not mapped will also be ground-truthed
Fauna: *** No vertebrate methodology recorded

Data Distribution Rules: Public Dataset
Project Basis: Vegetation : Vegetation Mapping. Non BSSA methodology used.
Vegetation : Baseline Survey of flora and/or fauna - Standard Biol Survey of SA survey methodology not used.
