Survey/Project Name: Threatened Fauna camera trap surveying in Flinders Chase NP
Abstract: The Friends of Parks KI Western Districts is a group of volunteers who will undertake camera trap surveys to detect the presence or absence of threatened small mammals in Flinders Chase National Park, Kangaroo Island, South Australia. Small mammal surveys have not been undertaken in the park for a number of years. The project is important in helping to assess the presence or absence of threatened species such as the Kangaroo Island Dunnart and the Southern Brown Bandicoot in Flinders Chase National Park. This project could provide data for further research into the distribution and population size of threatened species. Survey sites will include those from previous surveys, and other likely mammal sites. The data collected will assist park managers with future management and conservation activities.
