Survey/Project Number: 120          Total No. of Sites: 92
Survey/Project Name: Reptile Assemblages in the Mount Lofty Ranges - Postgraduate studies
Abstract: This project aims to conduct a biological survey in 25 fragments of native vegetation in the Southern Mt Lofty Ranges, near Adelaide, South Australia. METHODOLOGY: The project assessed the use of nested subset analysis as a conservation tool. This will allow establishment of gradient in proneness to extinction (predictable extinction sequence). This in turn allows identification of species sensitive to habitat fragmentation, and therefore extinction. It would then be easier to prioritise conservation management actions. Furthermore, vested subset analysis can be used to suggest what factors might be contributing to the composition patterns within a community.
