Survey/Project Name: | Coorong and Lakes Water Birds |
Abstract: | This project aims to conduct a biological monitoring survey of migratory-wader waterbird populations in the Coorong National Park, south-east of Adelaide, South Australia. METHODOLGY: The project will help influence management systems and other strategies for the area, including water flow. The data will be analysed, and a report produced annually, the first being ready by the start of the financial year 2005. There will also be some comparison with other datasets. |

Survey Type: | Fauna only |
Study Area Description: | *** No study area description recorded |
Objectives | |||
Vegetation: | *** No vegetation survey objectives recorded
Fauna: | Data collection involves point based data collection, done fortnightly during the breeding season (Spring/Summer) and monthly during Winter. From the centrepoint, every water bird is identified and recorded within a 1km radius. If terrestrial birds are recorded they are not included in this study, but entered on to the Opportune Database. Other details that are recorded are time, wind speed and direction, cloud cover, temperature and a site comment. Note that researchers used their own data sheets, however the minimum dataset required for Biological Survey and Monitoring was collected.

Vegetation: | *** No vegetation methodology recorded
Fauna: | *** No vertebrate methodology recorded |
Data Distribution Rules: | Public Dataset |
Project Basis: | Fauna : Fauna species/population Study (ie trapping records over time period for species study). NOTE:NON Std Svy methodology may have been used. |
