Abstract: |
This project aims to carry out a general biological survey in an area with very little information previously available, and to try and begin the preparation of a vegetation map for parts of the Strzelecki Desert, north-east South Australia.
The project, concentrating on the Callabonna 1:250,000 mapsheet, is part of the Biological Survey of SA programme run by the Biological Survey and Monitoring group in Department for Environment and Heritage (DEH). Survey areas defined in a DEH spatial layer are managed by DEH Environmental Information Group.
Visit period 13 SEP 1990 to 25 SEP 1990: Vegetation and Vertebrate survey;
Visit period 1 AUG 1990 to 12 SEP 1990: Photopoints only.
NOTE:
Survey Site coordinates were reviewed in 2017-2018 to address suspected uncertainty in locational accuracy. Site was projected against Google Earth imagery and compared with physical and vegetation site data. Original site survey sheets including mud maps were consulted where available. In 2019 locations were either verified or moved the minimum distance required to improve data consistency. All changes were documented within the site audit data.
