General Trends in Vegetation Recovery Gawler Ranges National Park |
| Abstract: |
Gawler Ranges National Park was created over 2000-01, out of Paney and Scrubby Peak sheep stations. Both were once Pastoral Leases and underwent lease assessment in 1987 (Paney) and 1992 (Paney and Scrubby Peak). During assessment many photopoints were established to monitor grazing impacts. Stock were removed completely by 2001 and the photopoints are to be regularly monitored to assess vegetation changes subsequent to removal of stock. These photopoints, as well as sites established previously in Biological Survey and Land Systems mapping (1985-87), are to be included in a general program of vegetation monitoring for all plant communities within the Park. |
