Abstract: |
This project aims to conduct a site-based flora and fauna survey of the South East coast of South Australia, and prepare 1:50,000 vegetation maps of the entire project area.
The area includes the South East Coastal Environmental Associations, and the Coorong Environmental Associations in the Murray Mallee Province.
The project is part of the Biological Survey of SA programme run by the Biological Survey and Monitoring group in Department for Environment and Heritage (DEH).
Survey areas defined in a DEH spatial layer managed by DEH Environmental Information Group.

Study Area Description: |
The area covers the South East Coastal Environmental Associations and the Coorong Environmental Associations in the Murray Mallee Province. The area consists of coastal dunes, plains, lagoons, mudflats and unconsolidated dunefields.
The environmental regions along the SE coast of SA from the Murray mouth to the Victorian Border including the following regions: Coorong, Coolatoo, Lake George, Beachport, Nene and Port MacDonnell.
19 sites were located outside of existing study boundary. The following
1:50 000 mapsheets were added to extend boundary: Goolwa 6626-01 and Narrung 6726-04. As discussed with Lee Heard and Tony Robinson October 2000. |
