BDBSA Project Metadata Detail

Survey/Project Number: 471          Total No. of Sites: 20
Survey/Project Name: Para Woodlands Vegetation (EAC)
Abstract: The Para Woodlands surveyed vegetation by establishing Standard Vegetation Survey quadrats using the Biological Survey Method of SA methodology. These quadrats will assist in long-term monitoring and vegetation mapping. 15 sites established within the Para Woodlands Reserve, and 7 reference sites outside the Reserve (sampling similar vegetation types). Sites were selected to represent each major vegetation association and/or land unit. Survey conducted 2005-2007.

Start Date: 30/10/2005      End Date: 24/12/2019
Survey Type: Vegetation Only

Study Area Description: Para Woodlands Reserve (Barossa Block and Yaringa Block), plus 7 references sites on nearby roadsides, private property and Council Reserve. The Para Woodlands Reserve, comprising two discrete blocks, located midway between Gawler and Para Wirra Recreation Reserve. The Yaringa Block incorporates the South Para River, and the Barossa (or Woodland) block adjoins Allendale Road. The 7 reference sites are on roadsides, private land or Council reserve within a few kilometres of the Para Woodland Reserve.
