Abstract: |
The original survey 703 that was created to capture coastal records from Coffin Bay and Lincoln NP has never had any records entered. And the creation of survey 1348 (2008 ? 2010 Statewide) and survey 1347 (other records outside of Statewide survey periods) means that survey 703 is no longer needed. We have therefore decommissioned survey 703. The 2005- 2007 records that were part of the dataset provided were entered in survey 1347, and so will the 2008 ? 2010 records.
OLD ABSTRACT:
Record all known breeding locations for Eastern Osprey and White-bellied Sea Eagle in Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park. Monitor known breeding sites (active/abandoned) annually to record breeding attempts and fledging success, and record any issues/human impacts of nesting territories. This monitoring began for Coffin Bay National Park in 2006. A complete mainland coastal survey of Eyre Peninsula in 2009, expanded known breeding locations of these endangered raptors. With less than 10 pairs of active breeding Sea-Eagles locations observed on the mainland, information on breeding success and human impacts to nesting sites is vital. This project focuses on known nesting locations of both species in Lincoln National Park and Coffin Bay National Park, and currently excludes island territories.
