Survey/Project Name: Hooded Plover breeding study Kangaroo Is
Abstract: The Hooded Plover breeding study was conducted over two breeding seasons (2007-2009), focussing on 30 beaches located in three areas of Kangaroo Island. The Study aimed to compare Hooded Plover breeding success with that recorded for unmanaged beaches in Victoria and to assess implications for Hooded Plover recruitment and population trends on Kangaroo Island. Degree of human disturbance was determined for the study beaches and a preliminary assessment carried out of the relationship between Hooded Plover breeding success and disturbance. Data from 2016 is available via Project 1361 - BEACH-NESTING BIRD - BIRDLIFE AUSTRALIA.
