As part of the process Biodiversity Assessments were carried out by the Project's Biodiversity Assessment Officer Frank Kutsche and during this process all plant species were recorded at assessment sites for the parcels of land. Then project includes other misc projects carried out by Frank during his time in the section eg: Peterborough Railway Line Assessment. Peterborough work has an internal report available.

Start Date: 01/12/2006      End Date: 01/12/2010
Survey Type: Vegetation Only

Study Area Description: Kangaroo Island, Yorke Peninsula, and several locations in Murraylands (Copeville, Malpas, Black Hill), one parcel south of Echunga, one parcel south of Rhynie, and Coonalpyn township
Objectives
         Vegetation: Refer to Abstract.
Fauna: *** No fauna survey objectives recorded
Methodology
Vegetation: Every parcel identified for potential disposal with vegetation had a site with all native and introduced species recorded, and in many cases collected. These were identified by Science Resource Centre Herbarium staff. Bushland Condition Monitoring criteria were applied to the species collected to derive a scoring method for Vegetation Condition as well as the parcel's vegetation patch in the greater vegetation cover. The size of the sites varied between 1-5 hectares, and on large parcels of land there were 2 sites for the variability. Coordinates for the sites were gained from the GIS. The Herbarium has retained all plant specimens that were collected and retained (therefore possible vouchering).
Fauna: *** No vertebrate methodology recorded
