Abstract: |
This project aims to restore ecosystems in the Far North region of South Australian.
Established in 1997, the program is centred on a 123 km fenced reserve.
Feral cats, rabbits and foxes have been eradicated from a total of 60 km and this has provided an area of complete protection into which four species of locally extinct mammals have so far been reintroduced.
Arid Recovery is an ecosystem restoration initiative working to restore Australia's arid lands.
The program is the result of years of dedication and hard work by volunteers from the local and wider community, in addition to the support of the four partners: BHP, Department for Environment and Water, The University of Adelaide, the community group Friends of Arid Recovery and Bush Heritage Australia.
