Survey/Project Number: 1077          Total No. of Sites: 317
Survey/Project Name: Coorong Lower Lakes and Murray Mouth (CLLMM) Recovery Project Revegetation
Abstract: This project aims to undertake the Vegetation program, as part of the Coorong, Lower Lakes and Murray Mouth (CLLMM) Recovery Project, south of Adelaide, South Australia. The CLLMM Recovery Project (2011-16) is a $137 million investment by the Government of South Australia's Murray Futures program and the Australian Government, to enhance the resilience of this Ramsar-listed Wetland of International Importance. Revegetation activities throughout the CLLMM region included both terrestrial revegetation, and revegetation of the shoreline, using the aquatic River Club-rush (Schoenoplectus validus). The Vegetation program was delivered through a partnership between the Australian and South-Australian governments, local community groups, and the Ngarrindjeri Regional Authority. Prior to the Vegetation program, the Early Works Priority Project (January 2010 to June 2011) also undertook terrestrial revegetation activities.

Start Date: 01/01/2010      End Date: 31/12/2016
Survey Type: Vegetation Only

Study Area Description: All works undertaken as part of the CLLMM Recovery Project were within a 5 km radius of Lakes Alexandrina and Albert, the Finnis River, Tookayerta Creek, Currency Creek, the Murray Mouth and the Coorong.
Objectives
         Vegetation: Refer to Abstract.
Fauna: *** No fauna survey objectives recorded
Methodology
Vegetation: All revegetation undertaken throughout both the Vegetation Program and Early Works Program was completed using tubestock seedlings. The species planted into each site were selected after an assessment of the vegetation community/communities likely to have occurred at the site, and typically included over, mid and understorey species. Many sites were planted over multiple years, and each site will have a site plan written for each year of revegetation. All sites underwent site preparation and weed control prior to planting, and also received site maintenance following planting. The extent of revegetation contained within each site plan was mapped as a polygon/multiple polygons. To generate a location for BDBSA, the centroid of all polygons belonging to a plan was generated. If the centroid didn't fall within any of the polygons, a replacement point was generated using the 'feature to point' tool by specifying that the point be located inside one of the polygons. The reliability of each point was determined by calculating the furthest distance from the point to the edge of the site plan polygon/s.
Fauna: *** No vertebrate methodology recorded
