Survey/Project Name: Dotterel and Plover population counts at Newland Head
Abstract: Dotterel and plover counts at Waitpinga and Parsons Beach contribute to park management evaluation. Counts began in the 1980's, with a regional study investigating mixing of dotterel and plover populations on Kangaroo Island, Fleurieu Peninsula and the South East. Presently the counts are being continued, to evaluate effects of fox baiting in the Park. Aim at monthly counts if possible, but hope to at least complete November and June counts each year.
