Abstract: Originally part of an NHT funded program looking at Plant Post Fire Responses within Ngarkat Conservation Park, annual surveys of birds and small mammals have been conducted through David Paton of Adelaide University. Fixed transects and quadrats have been established with trap lines which are measured in July and occasionally during summer. Reproductive information on nectar producing plants such as banksia sp. is also collected to compliment the bird and mammal data. Some targeted research on selected species such as Emu Wrens and Western Whip Birds also undertaken.
