Abstract: This project aims to conduct a biological survey between 1992 and 1994 for the Happy Valley District Council, near Adelaide, South Australia, to obtain a regional view of native vegetation in the study area; supplementary to existing information from the survey of the Southern Mount Lofty Ranges (Department of Environment and Planning, 1986), with additional survey sites.

Study Area Description: Ridges and narrow gullies of the spine of the Mount Lofty Ranges, foothills escarpment and undulating plateau. Rainfall 600-1150mm pa. Vegetation mainly sclerophyll open forest, woodland and low woodland, with some more open grassy woodland. City of Happy Valley, City of Mitcham and District Council of Stirling.
Objectives
         Vegetation: To obtain a regional view of native vegetation in study area, supplementary to existing information from the survey of the Southern Mount Lofty Ranges (Dept Environment and Planning, 1986) with additional survey sites.

Methodology
         Vegetation: Complete list of plant species per 10 x 10m quadrat using Braun/Blanquet cover abundance scores as in Muir table provided by Dept Housing and Urban Development. Standard Dept Housing and Urban Development datasheet modified to include comments on weed distribution.
