Survey/Project Name: Murray Bridge Defence site control burn
Abstract: This project is located within the Murray Bridge Defence Site and aims to collect pre and post control burn data for vegetation and avifaunal species. With a particular focus on vegetation response and potential affects for Malleefowl. Survey conducted between 2008-2011.

Start Date: 01/01/2008      End Date: 30/06/2011
Survey Type: Vegetation and Fauna

Study Area Description: Murray Bridge Defence Site. Training area 5 & 6
Objectives
Vegetation: This project is located within the Murray Bridge Defence Site and aims to collect pre and post control burn data for vegetation and avifaunal species. With a particular focus on vegetation response and potential affects for Malleefowl.
Fauna: *** No fauna survey objectives recorded
Methodology
Vegetation: Several repeat surveys sites were conducted in the three differing fire age sites; No known history, 1987 and 2009. Pre and post fire data was only collected at the 2009 site, the other fore histories serve as reference to more natural fire regimes as opposed to those imposed. Within each fire age, the three evc types present were sampled for avifaunal and floral diversity. Avifaunal survey methodolgy involved the commonly used 5ha, 30 min point area methodology. Whilst vegetation surveys utlised biological survey of south Australia methodology.
