BDBSA Project Metadata Detail

Survey/Project Number: 904          Total No. of Sites: 0
Survey/Project Name: Mt Remarkable To The Sea Biofund - Bush Condition Monitoring (BCM)
Abstract: This project number refined to just include Mt Remarkable to the Sea Biofund - BCM data. The Northern and Yorke NRM Board has received Australian Government Biodiversity Fund support for a project to improve the condition of coastal and riparian habitats along the Mambray Coast, South Australia. This work involves revegetation area and studies to increase the available knowledge of the condition of coastal and riparian habitats. The project will provide baseline data form which the NY NRM Board can evaluate its progress towards improving vegetation condition in the region under Resource condition target B1: Viable Vegetation Communities. BCM sites will be set-up in riparian, coastal and associated hills, foothills and plains areas. Opportunistic plant specimens may be collected as vouchers for the BCMs. Some opportunistic fauna sightings may also be collected.

Start Date: 06/08/2013      End Date: 30/06/2017
Survey Type: Vegetation and Fauna

Study Area Description: Mt Remarkable to the Sea study area includes from just south of Pt Pirie north of Winninowie Conservation Park and east to Mt Remarkable National Park (Mambray section) and south to include area near Telowie Conservation Park and all land within that area.
Objectives
         Vegetation: Refer to Abstract.
         Fauna: Refer to Abstract.
Methodology
Vegetation: Bush Condition Monitoring (BCM)sites will be set-up according to the NCSSA bush condition monitoring methodology. These sites will be located in riparian, coastal and associated hills, foothills and plains areas. Voucher specimens for the BCM sites will be recorded as opportunistic plant vouchers and entered into BDBSA. BCM data will be entered into the NCSSA BCM (SABAT) database.
Fauna: Some opportunistic fauna sightings may also be collected.

Data Distribution Rules: Public Dataset
Project Basis: Vegetation : Habitat rehabilitation/restoration
Vegetation : Monitoring - Vegetation/Ecosystem (ie species records - usually re-visited for ongoing monitoring) NOTE:NON Std Svy methodology may have been used.
Fauna : Opportunistic records - casual obs no fixed methodology
