Survey/Project Name: Ngarkat CP Fire History Maps (1945 - 2002)
Abstract: Aerial photography of the Ngarkat Conservation Park Complex and neighbouring Heritage Agreements has been used to map fire histories covering the period 1945 - 2002. A3 sized maps have been retained within District offices that can be overlaid to compare vegetation responses and extent of burns. Various thematic maps can be produced using ArcView software to incorporate other spatial layers onto the fire frequency layer that provide a long term vegetation monitoring tool for park management.
