Abstract: The Pygmy Copperhead project conducted by South Australian Herpetology group aimed: 1.To locate the remaining sub-populations of pygmy copperhead occurring in the Mt Lofty Ranges. 2. To carry out a publicity program encouraging ongoing reporting of sightings, along with locality and habitat data, to the South Australian Herpetology Group by the general community. This to serve the additional function of raising public awareness. 3. To record biological and ecological information about the species. 4. To assess the suitability of potential study sites and sampling methods to facilitate future research on the ecology of the species.
